  1. Yeah, the alliums I planted a few weeks ago are popping up, as are some of the snowbells that have been in the ground for years

It’s the first time I’ve noticed them being so early, but apparently they are generally fine and can survive over winter even if they have popped up early

    Hoping that’s true for me!

  2. I’ve got plants with flower buds on top with Autumn coloured leaves on the bottom 🤷🏻‍♀️

  3. I’ve got loads of grape hyacinths , they started coming through a month ago

Yes they do grow immediately and that’s a very good thing. They are creating the root and leaf structure in readiness to flower later. Once the temperature drops to freezing they will slow right down.

My dahlia that got completely eaten by slugs a few months back has regrown and has a flower bud on it.  The weather has been crazy!

Early bulbs often have two germinating episodes in a year. It’s so long since spring, they get the spring and summer to store some energy and pop up again. Don’t worry though, the frost should sort them out and you’ll get another flourish in spring.

Some of my rhododendrons have flowered again just in the last few days. They have no idea what’s going on anymore.
