Looks good though, can’t stand ivy, grows everywhere, strangles everything, much better without.

Nice crenellated parapet.

I’d be tempted to replace it with artificial ivy because it looks soooo much better with it.

Great job, well done!

You could replace it with jasmin – doesn’t destroy brick and is evergreen.

Gorgeous house either way!

That looked like Wisteria to the right of the door. Shame that went.
Stunning property though.

I’m sad visually but it makes sense if you where having problems. Is there another climbing plant you could replace it with that wouldn’t cause such issues? Little project maybe.

It’s much like people who think Venice is ‘so pretty’ – I have to point out to them that the pretty house wall has probably not been painted in 200 years and why don’t you think like that at home in the spare bedroom?
Ivy might ‘look nice’ but behind it’s doing so much damage.

What a shame, looks worse and worse for nature

I always thought ivy was given as a solution to damp and mould problems

Great job getting rid of the ivy, I hate the stuff and it does so much damage. Your house will be thanking you already. Beautiful house by the way 🙂

You need some gargoyles or something.
