No. But if you let them flower you’ll get onion seeds.

I did and got 2 extra bulbs. Nothing spectacular but got to use them for a few meals. Also the greens are great to add in salads and cooking.

Nope. Just eat them.

No. At best you will get 1 bulb back, the same bulb. They don’t separate or multiply like potatoes. The way to get more onions is from new bulbs from seeds

Yes, just cut the green top a bit; I just planted about 20 of them today, left from last year. Don’t wait too long or they’ll rot or dry out.

Probably not but it will flower and pollinators love the flowers. They look super cool too.

Yep… But not this year. Next year after you plant the seeds you get this year. Onion flowers are neat. Plant it!

My Garlic did this exact thing [found it in the cupboard yesterday] – – can I plant mine??

If you peel the layers back carefully until you get to the sprouts, you can then plant the sprouts individually, and they will grow into onions. I have had 1-5 sprouts from one onion. You will get more onions from seeds, but I mean, it’s still fun to plant the sprouts.
But, the onions I grow from these sprouts tend to be smaller than the original onion.

The flowers are so pretty! Like a pom pom ❤️

Mostly just green onions. The onion itself will mostly just rot away and the top will flower. But all the greens are perfectly edible.

No. Once they set bulbs, they’re done.
