the height of the amaryllis just depends on every cultivar! you can actually save that waxed amaryllis for next year by taking it off after the blooming period dies then planting it in a pot slightly bigger than the bulb with potting soil. water regularly and let the foliage face bright sunlight, direct sun is the best! let the foliage die by itself then place the amaryllis somewhere cool and dry for about 12-15 weeks, basement is ideal! then once its time again, pot it up, water, and let it grow!
