Heads up, these pallet boards rot extremely fast if in contact with wet soil. Even in my dry climate, they lasted less than a year before become completely disintegrated under the soil line.

I did a pallet fence like this 7 years ago. The pallets rest on the ground but are not buried. The fence is still going strong.
